How to recover from a Friday-Night-Out

reading time: 7 mins.

Last time I got very drunk was before I got hired as Crew Member at McDonald's so I had to prepare fully with shots of tequilas, vodka, gin and whatever my credit card could afford..

I remember drinking more than 7 shots one after another and damn.. next thing you could've seen was me peeing in a corner and on the ground screaming how tasty was kebab in front of the McDonalds restaurant.. whatever.. later that night I had to puke it all and make an agreement with myself with the no touching tequila rule.

Here's today topic for the How To Recover from a Friday-Night-Out!

Behind the Science:

-Why people get drunk?

People get drunk when they consume alcohol in amounts that exceed their body's ability to metabolize it. Alcohol, specifically ethanol, is a psychoactive substance that affects the central nervous system. When you drink alcohol, it is absorbed into your bloodstream through the stomach and small intestine. From there, it is circulated throughout your body, including to your brain.

Alcohol affects the brain by interacting with neurotransmitter systems, particularly enhancing the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which is an inhibitory

neurotransmitter.

This leads to a range of effects, including relaxation, lowered inhibitions, and impaired judgment and coordination.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you've had a bit too much to drink and are feeling the effects of alcohol? It happens to many people, and knowing how to handle being drunk responsibly can make a significant difference in your well-being and safety. Here are some tips to keep in mind:

Hydrate Wisely: One of the most important things you can do after drinking alcohol is to hydrate. Alcohol dehydrates your body, so drinking plenty of water can help counteract this effect. It can also ease symptoms like headaches and fatigue that often accompany drinking.

Fuel Your Body: Eating a balanced meal, especially one with carbohydrates and proteins, can help slow down alcohol absorption. This can mitigate the intensity of intoxication and help you feel better sooner.

Rest and Recover: Allow your body time to metabolize the alcohol by getting enough rest. Avoid strenuous activities and, most importantly, never drive under the influence. It's crucial to wait until you're completely sober before operating a vehicle or engaging in tasks that require full cognitive function.

Say No to More Alcohol: If you're already feeling drunk, it's not a good idea to consume more alcohol. Adding to your intake can worsen impairment and increase the risk of accidents or other alcohol-related problems.

Stay Safe: Being in a safe environment is paramount when you're feeling the effects of alcohol. Choose to stay in a familiar and secure place where you can rest comfortably and have support if needed.

Seek Help if Necessary: If someone exhibits severe symptoms of alcohol intoxication such as confusion, vomiting, difficulty breathing, or loss of consciousness, seek medical assistance immediately. It's better to err on the side of caution when dealing with potentially dangerous situations.

Know Your Limits: Reflect on your alcohol consumption and consider setting limits for yourself in the future. Being mindful of how much you drink and knowing your tolerance can prevent overindulgence and its associated risks.

In conclusion, drinking responsibly includes

not only being mindful of how much alcohol you consume but also knowing how to handle yourself if you've had too much. By following these tips, you can navigate the effects of alcohol more safely and ensure a better overall experience. Remember, moderation and awareness are key to enjoying alcohol responsibly.

IN ADDITION: In italy we do a thing, we drink our small cup of coffee with some lemon juice - just a few drops its enough - in it to help us recover asap.
